Merton College Chapel
[Christian Union] [Catholic Society]
Merton CU aims to unite and equip Christians in College to share their
faith with others, and grow through fellowship.

(Image Caption: Members of CU) It's open to
all Christians in College and anyone who would like to find out more about the
Christian faith through studying the Bible. We usually meet on Wednesdays at
8.00pm in College, and begin with tea and biscuits and time to share
fellowship together, then a Bible study and finish with prayers. We also
organize events during term time to give members of College the opportunity to
find out more about the gospel, and regularly run Christianity Explored
courses for those interested in an in-depth look at the claims of the gospel.
There is a Christian Union weekend house party during Michaelmas Term
[hopefully!]. Merton Christian Union is one of the OICCU (Oxford
Inter-collegiate Christian Union) college groups and we encourage anyone who
is interested to go along to the weekly OICCU central meetings to share
fellowship with Christians across the university. To find out more,
visit the OICCU
website.
For more information please see our CU rep, Rachel Grandey.

Each term a Catholic Mass is organised within Merton College, to which all Catholic students, senior members, members of staff and anyone else who might be interested are welcome to attend. Social events can be organised within college, but CathSoc is the Catholic society of the University (encompassing all colleges) and offers a wide range of social and other activities - please see the term card for full details or http://users.ox.ac.uk/~cathsoc/.
The Catholic Chaplaincy is located on St Aldates (opposite Christ Church) and Mass is celebrated every Sunday in term at 9am, 11am and 5.45pm. For more information visit: www.catholic-chaplaincy.org.uk/index.html.
For further information contact the Catholic rep, Maddy Rudge (madeleine.rudge@merton.ox.ac.uk).
